Hi Hi! Figuring out the right vendors for you and your big day can be super, super tough. You will go through lists and lists or be told by a friend or family member who they love- but let me tell you a secret ( at least for when you are choosing a wedding photographer) ask questions and make sure you “vibe” with them and their personality!
This is SO IMPORTANT to look at old blog posts on past weddings, etc. Make sure you love their photography style and editing ( each photographer brings different things to the table!!) Looking at past work at weddings can be so helpful during this process. If they don’t have any recent work posted, ask them to send you some! For example, I am a super candid photographer ( lots of raw moments and giggles). While someone else may be more formal, go with what best fits you!
ALSO VERY VERY IMPORTANT usually this depends on the packages. For example, I always pretty much shoot my elopements solo- but for weddings, I typically have a second shooter or at least an assistant. Having a second shooter during the day allows for different angles, a different perspective, and a more variety of shots throughout the day!
This is so important to know what to expect from your photographer before and after your wedding day. So understanding and asking about the contract, how much a deposit is, payment plan, how long it takes to get edited photos back, and so much more and KEY to having a stress-free wedding photographer experience!
Overall I think communication with your photographer is KEY to having a stress-free experience when booking and choosing your wedding photographer for your big day! So ask yourself if you and this person vibe? Do you LOVE their photos, etc.?
